David G. Gregus' Obituary
David G. Gregus, age 78, of Amherst, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
He was born on July 16, 1942 in Lorain to Paul and Ann (nee Viderick) Gregus, and is a 1960B graduate of Lorain High School. He was a resident of Amherst for the past 46 years. He worked for Goodrich/Lubrizol as a senior lab technician for 41 years, before finally retiring from there in 2008.
David was a devoted member of St. Peters Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being on a league with his wife for many years. He was also quite handy around home, fixing and building everything that needed to be. Anyone could have guessed this though by the sight of his very extensive workshop. He even took great pride in the Mississippi River Boat he built by hand instead of using a kit. David also enjoyed playing cards, especially when there was a little bit of fun gambling to go along. He will always be remembered as extremely thoughtful, considerate to others, and caring for all.
David is so dearly missed and will forever be in the hearts of his wife of 49 years, Elaine (nee Mello) Gregus, his son, Daniel (Lindsey) Gregus, his daughter, Linda (Scott) Higdon, his 6 beautiful grandchildren, a brother, Dale (Barb) Gregus, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family held private funeral services. The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, assisted the family with arrangements. To send an online condolence, please go to www.dovinreberjones.com.
