David "Todd" Martin's Obituary
David T. Martin “Todd”, age 48 of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
He was born on May 7, 1971 in Elyria, Ohio to Dave and Robyn (nee LeVan) Martin. Todd graduated from Keystone High School in 1989. He went on to further his education at Lorain County Community College and Cleveland State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006.
Todd worked as a Supervisor of Final Maintenance for 20 years at Ford Motor Company. He worked at the Brook Park and Avon Lake Plants.
He was a proud member of AA 1250 in Brook Park. Todd was an avid fisherman who loved deep sea fishing in Florida. He enjoyed boating, hunting, and being in the outdoors enjoying nature. He was artistic and had a love of classic rock music. Todd was selfless man who was always there for others. His greatest love was for his family who he loved spending time with and watching his children grow and coaching their teams.
Todd is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elise (nee Usry); children, Madison Martin and Clay Martin; his father, Dave and Sharon Martin; mother, Robyn Bognar; sister, Holly Martin; niece, Samantha Wilson; nephew, Blake Merrick; grandmother, Anna LeVan; his in-laws, Ronald and Debra Haynes; and his brother-in-law, Duane (Kessie) Usry; and step-brother, William Jason Nau.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth LeVan and Ozzy and Elizabeth Martin.
The Martin family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 -8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Father Frank Kosem, Pastor of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Elyria, will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions be made in memory of Todd, to the Ed Keating Center, P.O. Box 770108, Lakewood, OH 44107.
