David McQuate's Obituary
David W. McQuate, 69, of Lorain, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 3, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio, he came to Lorain in 1948 where he graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1960B. He lived his entire life in Lorain.
In 1990, David retired as a Scheduler from Ford Motor Company Lorain Assembly Plant after 29 1/2 years.
David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling on family vacations. Two of his favorite spots were the Outerbanks, NC and Plevna, Ontario, Canada. Over the years, he was a member of several golf and bowling leagues. He loved to fish and teach his grandchildren to fish. He was also a member of numerous service organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carlyne (nee Johnson); sons David S. (Kathleen) McQuate of Doylestown, PA, and Michael (Melissa) A. McQuate of Amherst; daughters Marie A. (Jeffrey) Waugh of Pickerington, OH and Denise L. Tuma of Katy, TX; and grandchildren, Jared, Colleen, Justin, Erin, Samantha, Nicholas, and Sean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Harriet "Ruth" (nee Grubbs) McQuate; and brothers, Glenn and Darryl.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13th from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst, will officiate.
