David Vore's Obituary
David R. Vore, age 71, of Amherst, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 27, 2015 at his home.
Born on January 15, 1944 in Parma, Ohio, David grew up in Parma Heights. He graduated from Parma High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree.
For over 30 years, David worked for the Lorain county Board of Education as a student liaison, retiring in 2002.
He was a ham radio operator since the age of 14, making contact to over 100 countries. He was known by the name tag “K8WW”. David was also a NASCAR enthusiast and was a competitive marksman for many years.
He previously attended Nativity Catholic Church in South Amherst.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy (nee Duncan); his son, Kyle Freedman, of Minneapolis and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darwin and Stella (nee Selzer) Vore.
The family will receive friends at a memorial gathering on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 4:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst.
