Deborah Grasso's Obituary
Deborah M. Grasso, age 63, of Lorain passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born on January 6, 1953 in Lorain, Ohio to Steve and Mildred (nee Jachym) Komar and graduated from Admiral King High School in 1971. She worked for Macy’s Department Store for over 20 years.
Deborah loved to shop, watch the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball games, and decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween. She was classy, sharp and always put together. She had a kind heart and was always there to help others. She loved attending and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Her grandchildren and her great-niece, Alivia were her world.
She is survived by her husband, of 44 years, John; sons, Christian J. and John J. III (Chrystal); grandchildren, John J. IV “J.J.”, Anthony, and Emmie; mother, Mildred Komar; brother, Thomas Komar; and her sisters, Cynthia (Dennis) Smith, Sandra (Scott) Jenkins, and Jane Smith.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Steve; and her twin sister, Dennise Sosinski.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Friday, December 23rd. at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Deborah to the Seidman Cancer Center.
