Denver "Tom" Limer's Obituary
Denver T. (“Tom”) Limer, age 69, of Elyria Township, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home.
Born on February 22, 1945 in Upshur County, West Virginia to the late Richard and Clementine Limer, he came to this area in 1966.
Tom worked at Ford Motor Company in the maintenance department as a welder for 37 years. He started working at the Lorain Plant and then spent the majority of his years at the Avon Lake Plant, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the UAW Local 2000.
Tom enjoyed going to car shows, especially his annual trip to Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Winnifred M. “Freddy” (nee Blackshire); his son, Denver II; his daughter, Jody (Jason) Strother; his grandchildren Mallory Gorby, Brittany and Brett Strother, and Drake and Christian Limer; his beloved friend and mother of 2 of his grandsons, Marel “Red” O’Neill; his brother-in-law and “son”, David P. Blackshire; his brother, Donnie (Sonja); and his sister, C. Addie Appenfelder.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin McDaniels, Richard Limer and P. Douglas Limer; and his sisters, Jean Limer, Esstella Harris, Eve Deem and Katherine Benedum.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no services.
The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, handled the arrangements.
Contributions, if desired, may be made in Tom’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
