Diane M Fate's Obituary
Diane M. Fate, 66, passed away on March 26, 2026 from Pancreatic cancer. Knowing that she had a purpose in life and once her purpose was filled it would be through her strong faith in God, he would grant her eternal peace. God guided her in many difficult and challenging periods of her life, and she knew many of her prayers had been answered.
Having worked hard all her life, she was a respiratory therapist for 36 years, working at several local hospitals. In 2021, she retired after 27 years with the Cleveland Clinic.
She enjoyed reading suspense novels and could often be seen walking at the Metropark beaches, going out to dinner with friends, and cooking. She would often take supplies to animal shelters; her love for all animals gave her a strong conviction on how animals should be treated.
Diane is survived by her brother David (Diane) Fate of Lorain; niece Taylor Fate of Cincinnati; and her Cat, Finn who was her beloved and faithful companion and gift from God who was always by her side and made her smile every day.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother Gloria (Puma) Fate and father Earl Fate.
Diane mentioned she is eternally grateful for the love and support by all the beautiful people that have touched her life and loved her unconditionally. She looked forward to the joyful day when all the physical and emotional pain and suffering are no more and that it will be replaced with pure peace, joy, and love.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 E Erie Ave, Lorain, OH 44052, and she will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
