Diane Strauser's Obituary
Diane Strauser (nee Sexstella), age 63, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born on November 3, 1951 in Lorain, Diane graduated from Admiral King High School in 1969. She lived in Elyria for over 35 years, and moved to Amherst in 2011.
Diane worked as a cashier at the former Meyer Goldberg Supermarket in Lorain and more recently at Giant Eagle in North Ridgeville until her disability in 1999. For many years, she was a Longaberger Basket consultant.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elyria.
In her free time, Diane enjoyed going to craft fairs, and day trips to Amish Country and Dresden, Ohio, home of Longaberger Baskets. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and casinos near and far.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Edward; step-sons, Jim (Candy), of Sheffield Lake, Eddie, of Tennesee and Jeff (Jeff), of Columbus; her step daughter, Michelle, of Columbus; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and her sister, Mary Jane (Dan) Hreha, of Lorain and her nephew, Dan (Stacy) Hreha.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Amelia (nee Ventrone) Sexstella, both in 2009.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, Pastor of St. Vincent De Paul Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
