Dolly Senters' Obituary
Dolly Senters (nee King), 94, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 28, 2022 at Autumn Aegis nursing home.
Dolly, one of nine children, was born in Boldman, Kentucky, on June 29,1927 to John and Clara (nee Pruitt) King. She grew up in Kentucky and after World War II, she and her late husband of 74 years, Willis Senters, moved several times searching for employment, eventually finding work and a permanent home in Lorain, Ohio. Dolly worked for some time as a department manager at Kmart, and then spent the rest of her working years cleaning houses for others, where she created life-long friendships with those who employed her.
Dolly adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who referred to her as “Nanny”. She loved the outdoors, where she would spend hours upon hours caring for her many flowers and her large yard. Dolly always loved giving bouquets of these flowers to her granddaughter, a teacher, to display on her desk on the first day of school each year. Dolly was such an unselfish and giving person, always putting others’ needs before her own, and always offering others a helping hand. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking Sunday dinners, making holidays special, sharing stories about her life in Kentucky, and growing up during the Great Depression. Dolly was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who always put a smile on your face with her comments and euphemisms.
Dolly is survived by her daughter, Sonja Rosario (nee Senters) of Lorain, son-in-law
Evelio Rosario, Jr. of Lorain, granddaughter Stacy Gleason (nee Rosario) of Lorain, and her
husband Anthony Gleason, grandson Evelio Rosario, III of Powell, Ohio, great grandsons Liam
Gleason and Lorenzo Rosario, and brothers John Paul King of Louisa, Kentucky, and Albert
King of Harold, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Willis Senters,
her infant son Johnny Lee, mother Clara King (nee Pruitt), father Johnny King, sisters Sarah
Elkins, Gladys Hatcher, Olgia Layne, Roxie Justice, and brothers Joseph and Bill King.
