Donald Boissoneault's Obituary
Donald F. Boissoneault, age 79, of Sheffield Lake passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. John Westshore Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on August 17, 1932 in Monteque, Massachusetts where he lived until moving to Sandusky, OH in 1947. He then moved to Sheffield Lake where he has made his home for the past 51 years.
Donald was a 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School. Upon his graduation from high school he served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army he owned and operated Sunnyside Florist in Sandusky with his brother, Harry for 4 years. He retired from Stow Woodward Company as a Sales Engineer in 1995.
Don loved to spend time outdoors whether jogging at the park, boating or playing tennis. He loved to attend his grandchildren's events. He traveled frequently with his beloved wife Mary especially after retirement. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain where he served as an usher. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary A. Boissoneault (nee Hunker); daughter, Leslie (Greg) Kirsch, of Mount Juliet, TN; sons, Lynn Boissoneault, of Duluth, GA, Kevin (Heather) Boissoneault, of Maumee, OH and Jeffrey (Kate) Boissoneault, of Mercer Island, WA;; grandchildren, David (Abby), Stephanie and Andrew Kirsch, Caroline, Collin, Matthew and Cara Boissoneault; great-grandchildren, Noah and Eli Donald Kirsch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. and Edna (nee Thompson) Boissoneault and his brother, Harry Boissoneault.
Private funeral services were held.
The family suggest contributions be made in his memory to the ALS Association, Development Department, 27001 Agoura Rd. Suite 250 Calabasas Hills, CA 91301. This is in honor of his brother, Harry who passed away from this disease.
