Donna Cochran's Obituary
Donna Cochran (nee Parker), age 80, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at West Bay Center of Westlake, Ohio.
She was born on September 15, 1934 in Parcoal, West Virginia to Lovell and Lula (nee Wright) Parker.
Donna was a member of the Kipton Community Church, the Izaak Walton League and the American Legion Post 30, in Lorain.
She enjoyed playing softball and bowled for many years at Rebman’s Bowling Alley and Stoney’s in Elyria. Donna collected butterflies, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing with family. She looked forward to every year attending her husband’s Navy Reunions, which took place all over the United States throughout the years for U.S.S. Damato 871.
Donna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Cochran; sons, Roy (Pamela) Cochran, of Amherst, Richard Cochran, of Vermilion; a daughter, Debra (Les) Palmer, of Vermilion; grandchildren, Alicia Cochran, Jessica Cochran Goffey and Danielle Palmer; great-grandchildren, Riley Kranes, Devyn Kranes, Taylor Goffey, T.J. Goffey, Donavan Bell, Caleb, Fagan and Chase Fagan; brother, Ronald (Linda) Parker, of Lorain, and sisters, Sharon (Gerald) Westfall, of Lorain and Lavonne Dennison, of Richwood, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lovell and Lula Parker; and her granddaughter Nicole Cochran Bell.
The Cochran family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. following the visitation. Rev. Lee Stull, Pastor of Kipton Community Church, will officiate. Private family interment will take place on Friday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Rittman, OH.
