Donna Machovina's Obituary
Donna L. Machovina, age 62, of Elyria passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Oak Hills Nursing Center under the care of New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 23, 1951 in Niagara Falls, Ontario to Leo and Norma (nee Caldwell) Byrnes. Donna was a 1969 graduate of Lorain High School. Upon completion of high school she continued her education at Lorain Community College. She was a resident of Lorain County most her life.
Donna made her career as a transcriber in the radiology departments of area hospitals, including St. Joseph Hospital, Fairview Hospital, Mercy Regional Medical Center and Tri-City Medical. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly (Hal Looby) Minch, of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Marie (Mike) Gravelle, of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Leota Borbash, of Florida, Jan (Paul) Rigda, of Amherst, OH and Wendy (Peter Burke) Byrnes, of Florida.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Norma Byrnes; brother, Allan Byrnes; and brother-in-law, Joe Borbash.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
