Dorothy Dargo's Obituary
Dorothy F. Dargo (nee Savinsky), age 73, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Mill Manor Care Center in Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 14, 1939 in Lorain, Ohio to Alex and Frances (nee Zawasky) Savinsky. Dorothy attended Nativity BVM Catholic School and was a 1957 graduate of Lorain High School.
Dorothy and Richard Dargo were married on August 19, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada and on December 30, 1965 in Nativity BVM Catholic Church.
Dorothy worked for Neisner Department Store and for A & P Grocery Store as a clerk and supervisor. She was a Girl Scout Troup Leader for 5 years and a very active member of the Nativity School P.T.U. for 10 years. Crocheting afghans and ceramic projects brought her much enjoyment.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard J. Dargo; daughters, Doris (Donald) Jacopin, of Vermilion and Deborah (Graham) Henderson, of Amherst; grandchildren, Kayli and Jordan Jacopin, Olivia, Graham, Erik and Adam Henderson; great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Jacopin; brothers, Richard Savinsky, of Amherst and Ronald Savinsky, of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Frances (nee Zawasky) Savinsky.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers of Mill Manor Health Center in Vermilion and to Stein Hospice Program of Sandusky whose skilled professionals provided comfort and support during Dorothy's final journey.
The Dargo family will receive friends and family on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Friday, July 6th at 9;15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th. Street, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
