Dorothy Marie Nye's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Nye (nee Blair), age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Elmcroft of Lorain.
She was born on July 8, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio to William and Ethel (nee Armour) Blair and graduated from East High School, in Youngstown.
Dorothy made her life as a homemaker. She and her husband, Raymond owned and operated a Dairy Queen, in Youngstown, for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Lorain. In her younger years she enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Tim (Joyce) Nye, of Amherst, Dennis (Jeanine) Nye, of Canfield, and William Nye, of Indiana; daughter, Mary Jacqueline Ebert, of Poland, OH; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Raymond; daughter, Kathleen Saunders; and her parents, William and Ethel Blair.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 333 S. Lake Street, South Amherst, Ohio. Rev. Father Timothy O’Connor, Pastor, will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, in Youngstown, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Dorothy to the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland, 10011 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106 or to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Enhancement, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
