Dorothy J Pajer's Obituary
Dorothy J. Pajer (nee Kitka), 83, of Huron, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022, while under the care of Stein Hospice. She was born September 27, 1938 in Lorain, where she grew up and graduated from Lorain High School. After years of living in Lorain and cultivating lifelong friendships, she moved to her beloved home of 28 years in Vermilion. For many years, she and her husband also loved spending their winters in Naples, Florida.
Dorothy was an avid golfer and a member of leagues both here and in Naples. Along with her passion for golf, she took extreme pride in her flower gardens, landscaping, and Koi pond. Every year she looked forward to planting her flower gardens, tending meticulously to them to the point of coordinating bloom times. Not only did her marvelous displays bring her happiness, they were enjoyed by others as well, even earning her local recognition.
When Dorothy wasn't perfecting her flowers and landscaping, she enjoyed reading, fashion, excursions, and going to her Friday evening dinners at the Vermilion Boat Club. She was a social person and loved being with her family and friends. She especially loved holidays and celebrations where everyone was together, and she was able to cook for her loved ones. Along with being a member of the Vermilion Boat Club, Dorothy was a member of the Lakeland Ladies Club and St. Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold, with whom she would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in October; children, Debbie (Mark) Rorick, Denise (Danny) Merrell, and Mark (Virginia) Pajer; grandchildren, Nicole (Kristopher), Ian (Ali), Natalie, Victor, and Emily; great-granddaughter, Ellery and a brother, Joseph Kitka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Bartok) Kitka.
The family is holding private services.
Arrangements are under the care of Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
