Dwane Gibson's Obituary
Dwane R. Gibson “Buzz”, age 81, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain after a brief illness.
He was born on June 19, 1929 in Lorain to the late Donald and Hazel (nee Troup) Gibson. and attended the Lorain City Schools.
Dwane enlisted with the United States Army in January of 1952. He served in the 7th. Infantry 32nd. Division Able Co. during the Korean War. He was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart for his valiant service for his country.
He worked for over 40 years in automobile sales management for several dealerships in the area. Golfing and boating were hobbies that he enjoyed.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dalia (Nee Talarico); son, Scott (Theresa) Gibson, of Lorain; grandchildren, Angela, Scott Jr. and Christopher Gibson; great-grandson, Anthony Gibson; sister, Donna Butler, of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
