Edith Farley's Obituary
Edith Farley, age 93, passed away from pneumonia on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Amherst Manor.
She was born on March 11, 1919 in Hinton, West Virginia to Frank and Sonia (nee Young) Lane. She moved from West Virginia to Elyria, Ohio 1n 1966.
Edith was an accomplished seamstress who worked for many clothing companies, Robert Halls, The Stag Shop, Richmond Brothers and Kleins Men's Store are some of the stores she was employed by. She loved gardening and was a fabulous cook. Edith was a very caring, giving and loving lady with a big heart that touched family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Lowell T., of Cleveland and Gary W., of Amherst; daughters, Frankie Guthrie, of Elyria, Janith A. Martin, of Culver, Indiana and Linda K. Burris, of Huron; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Cox, of Jumping Branch, West Virginia and Detta Adkins, of Hinton,West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell N., in 1996; granddaughter, Debbie Guthrie; parents, Frank and Sonia Lane; and brother, Carl Lane.
The Farley family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Restwood Cemetery in Hinton, West Virginia.
