Edith L. Sparks' Obituary
Edith “Patti” Lucille Sparks (nee Getic), age 83, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion.
She was born on August 21, 1930 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Cloyd and Irene (nee Rook) Getic. Edith had made her home in Lorain in 1996, moving from Brownsville, PA. She was a member of the PACC and St. Lad’s Club. She enjoyed crafts, painting, baking and playing bingo.
She is survived by hers sons, David (Susan) Sparks, of Dunlevy, PA, Farrel (Debbie) Sparks, of Freedom, PA, and Bruce (Mary) Sparks, of Glenside, PA; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Donald, Peter and William Getic; sister, Grace Kibler; and sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Harriet Szantay.
Edith was preceded in death by her, daughter, Christine Sparks; parents, Cloyd and Irene Getic; and her brother Richard Getic.
The family will observe a private memorial on January 10, 2014.
Contributions may be made in memory of Edith to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
