Edward Fritsch's Obituary
Edward Frederick Fritsch Jr., a devoted husband, proud Marine, and dedicated Ford Motor Company employee, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loved ones at Richwood Nursing and Rehab Center in LaGrange, Kentucky.
Edward, born on May 2, 1939, in Lorain, Ohio, was the beloved son of Edward Frederick and Dorothy (nee Six) Fritsch Sr. He found his calling early in life, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps on March 20, 1958. His commitment to duty and service was unwavering, and he served his country with honor until his honorable discharge on March 17, 1961.
After his time in the Marines, Edward embarked on a career at Ford Motor Company where he dedicated 33 years of his life. His dedication and work ethic made a lasting impact, and his contributions will be remembered by his colleagues and the company.
Edward's passions in life were as diverse as they were heartfelt. An avid sports enthusiast, he held a special place in his heart for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In his younger years, he found solace in the great outdoors through camping, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
With his beloved wife Sandra (nee Paffume) by his side, Edward found joy in exploring new places and testing his luck at casinos. Together, they built a life full of adventure and shared experiences. Sandra was his partner in every sense, and their 44 years of marriage were a testament to their deep and enduring love.
Edward's legacy continues through his loving family. He leaves behind his son, Edward A. (Heather, nee Berens) Fritsch; grandchildren, Alexa (Jason) Ellison and Tyler Fritsch; great-grandchildren, Fiona and Farrah; brothers Robert (Kathy) Fritsch and Ken (Judy) Fritsch; sister June (Ted) Kuhn; sister-in-law, Karen (Jack) Shawver, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra, and his parents, Edward and Dorothy Fritsch.
To celebrate Edward's life, a gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. A final tribute will be paid on Tuesday, August 22nd, with graveside services at 11:00 AM at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Rd., Amherst, OH.
