Edward H. Jackson's Obituary
Edward H. Jackson, age 73, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, July26, 2016, at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake.
He was born on February 18, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Edward Hamilton and Lillie Mae Pruitt. He graduated from Parker High School and then continued his education at Urbana College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. Edward served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning his rank as Sergeant before being honorably discharged and retiring from the military in 1987. He was a member of the VFW, and loved to play cards and sing.
Edward will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Gwendolyn (nee Arthur), his children; Sharon (Davie) Henry, of Lorain, Marilyn Carroll, of Dallas, TX, Edward Jackson, Jr, of Louisville, KY, Tracy (Terrance) Wilcoxson, of Lorain, Lisa (John) Schmidt, of Lorain, and Tonya (Michael) Anderson, of Lorain, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Angie (David)Brown, Quanita Seymore, Gina Henry, Ashley Henry, Alexander Virgil, Victoria Virgil, Marcus Jackson, Michael Jackson, Mya Jackson, Myles Jackson, Kierra Wilcoxson, Alyssa Jones, Terriana Jones, Christopher Clayton, Jordan Clayton, Shariah Board, Aaliyah Board, Dasia Brown, Davonte Brown, Owen Jackson, Aiden Jackson, Laniya Jackson, Autumn Jackson, Davin Crockett, Braelyn Virgil, Nile Anderson, Malik Anderson, and Michael Anderson. He is also survived by his siblings; Donnie Mae Hughes, of Birmingham, AL, Chatman Hamilton, of Birmingham, AL, Virgie Lee Taylor, of Birmingham, AL, Thomas Hamilton, of Birmingham, AL, Linda Perdue, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Adolph Hamilton, of Cisco, TX. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws; Melvin Arthur and George (Margaret) Arthur, sister-in-laws; Debra Cobbs and Celeste Arthur, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 1, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
