Give thanks to God for remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all in every prayer.
I am so sorry that I will be unable to attend the showing or service for such a dear friend. Here is a copy of what I said about Ed on my radio show Friday morning, August 24, on WEOL:
The official scorekeeper for the big school basketball tournament for most of the 26 years it was held at Admiral King has passed away. Ed Reber served well in that position as well as scorer for King basketball for 30 years. Reber was honored for his years of service just over 10 years ago. Ed Reber, who also managed youth baseball in Lorain for many years, was truly a good person.
There was a moment when God looked down to see what he could see. A leader, a director, a guide for you and me.And there sat Edward so proud and smiling like no one else could do asking God begging God to please choose me. God smiled at him and said my child there is work for you to do, Edward smiled back at him and said yes my lord that work is for you.
God made a chuckle and said well done Edward that your work has proved to be, outstanding, surpurb no words cannot discribe the work you've done for me. You are my child so I grant your wish knowing you lived your life for me. He took his hand to travel this land and pave the way for thee....
Thank you Lord for all you do in your grace in saving me, I praise your name for God above you have set me free.
To the Reber family we will miss Mr. Edward Reber, but never the memories we have shared. Be blessed and continue to trust God.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there. I did not die. (Mary Elizabeth Frye)
You are all in my prayers.
Our Dear friend Mr. Reber~
He was an honorable and loving man who touched many lives and his memory will live on forever.
I was hoping to enjoy one more glass of red wine with him but am looking forward to sharing it one day with him in heaven.
May God comfort and guide Mrs. Reber, Craig, his family and friends during this time giving you the assurance that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior.
