Edward M Strauser's Obituary
Edward M. Strauser, age 76, of Amherst, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 following a lengthly illness. He was born on February 23, 1941 in Lorain, to the late Charles and Ethel (nee Schafer) Strauser.
In his working life, Edward was employed at Meyer Golberg, followed by working for BF Goodrich/Lubrizol as a shipping foreman where he retired from in 2009.
Edward was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Lorain, Ohio. He was a member on multiple bowling leagues through Rebman’s, and enjoyed playing lawn bowling. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and also enjoyed visiting casinos and playing video poker. He loved spending time with his family.
Edward is survived by his children, Michelle Strauser, of Columbus, Edward Strauser, of TN, Jim (Candy) Strauser, of Sheffield Lake, Richard (Barb) Strauser, of TN, and Jeffrey Koch (Jeffrey Lucas), of Columbus; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Jack (Sheila) Strauser, of Lorain; Sister, Nancy Smith, of Westlake; and his companion, Lottie Gurnack.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Diane (nee Sexstella); Sisters, Joann Szabo and Lillian Strauser; and Brothers, Gerald and Charles Strauser.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain. Rev. Father Robert Glepko, Pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
