Edward M. Urban Sr.'s Obituary
Edward M. Urban Sr., age 87, of Amherst passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 18, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Michael and Dorothy (nee Olah) Urban. Edward was a 1951 graduate of Lorain High School. He was a Radio Operator with the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. Edward retired from Ford Motor Company in 1996 after 38 years of service as a Data Processing Operator.
Edward enjoyed being outdoors, from cutting the grass, gardening and just enjoying nature. He had a great love of history and was always watching documentaries. He and his wife, Mary Louise, enjoyed going to the casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Louise (nee Ferner) Urban; children, Michael Urban, Edward Urban Jr., Eric (Melissa) Urban, Matthew Urban, Anthony Roberts, Debra Lorenzo, Tammy Jo Grabowski, Carolyn Uldrich, Evelyn Urban, and Theresa Porter; grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, Kenny, Mark and Eric; sister, Elsie Nather.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Dorothy; and his brother, Dennis Urban.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Interment will follow at New Russia Twp. Cemetery, in Oberlin.
