Elaine Susan Callahan's Obituary
Elaine Susan Callahan (nee Hodapp), age 98, of Sheffield Village, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 while in the care of the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
She was born on April 6, 1922 on a farm near Granville, Iowa. Elaine was a talented artist and gardener. She worked on so many arts and craft projects and loved making gifts for her family and friends. Elaine was lucky to have traveled all across the United States and always looked forward to each trip. She also enjoyed quilting, card playing, reading, and working on word searches.
She is survived by her children; Rose Ann (Charles) Urbanic, Carol Lynn McMenamin, and Larry (Carolyn) Callahan, daughter-in-law, Pauline Callahan, her 9 grandchildren; Michelle (Dan) Keeler, George Urbanic, Sean (Jennifer) Urbanic, Michael (Kathryn) Callahan, Nicholas (Megan) Callahan, Jamie (Andrew) Kessel, John (Justine) Lucia, Matthew McMenamin, and Brandon McMenamin, her 9 great grandchildren; Caroline Urbanic, Lila Urbanic, Joseph Urbanic, Mairead Callahan, Colette Callahan, Lauryn Callahan, Beatrice Callahan, and James Callahan, and her sister, Alice Wittkop. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Callahan, a son, Pat Callahan, parents; Otto and Charlotte (nee Full) Hodapp, brother, Conrad Hodapp, and sisters; Marjorie Bergeson, Joan Mullin, and Georgia Croat.
