Marty, Catherine , and Family; Our condolences and prayers are with you during this time.
Elaine will always be remember as a kind, thoughtful, and giving person.
Elaine is fondly remembered as a sincere, caring and dedicated classmate/friend who willingly gave of her talent and time to help others. I'll never forget how she reminded me that without her math tutoring in high school I may never have obtained my engineering degree! From personal experience I know she was an outstanding teacher. Her interpersonal skills, willingness to help and dedication were clearly exhibited in the leadership role she took for our 50th MLS reunion. Elaine will be missed by many but we can be comforted in knowing that her strong faith has placed her now in the caring hands of our Heavenly Father.
I was a classmate of Elaine's at SJC, and lived in the dorms with her. I remember her fondly as always smiling and being a friend to everyone of us. Please accept my sympathy on her passing. I pray God will comfort you and give you strength and support as you mourn her loss.
My favorite memory of Elaine is one that happened during December when we had Advent Pals. Elaine was Kathy Washtak's Advent Pal. One day she had a hard time putting something in Kathy's stocking, which was hanging in a central location in the hallway with the other stockings, because someone was in the hall every time she tried to sneak something in Kathy's stocking. Kathy was feeling "deprived" because her Advent Pal hadn't given her something yet. She kiddingly told Elaine to put something in her stocking. And so Elaine said, "Alright!", and she did! Kathy never caught on that Elaine was her Advent Pal until the reveal just before we left for Christmas break. Everyone had a good laugh!
God bless you!
Sincerely,
Rita Dominick, SJC, Class of '70

To the family of Elaine,
My most sincere sympathy to all of you. Elaine was truly a wonderful person.
We both graduated from St. John College, were dorm-wing friends and enjoyed many fun filled times together.
Some time after graduation we had a "mini reunion" at my home in Mentor by Lake Erie.
By then some of the guests had small children. Elaine brought Cathy who had apparently heard my name mentioned, Kathy Valko from college days. When introduced Cathy responded with, "Hello, Kathy Velcro!!!" A precious moment!!!
May God grant her rest and you peace.

Mrs.Manges was one of the best teachers I had at St.Joe's. She was a kind, sweet person. For many years I would run into her after school hours coming and going on my way to coach CYO volleyball practices at St. Joe's gym. It was nice to see her year after year and catch up. She was so proud of her daughter Cathy. My deepest sympathies for all her friends and family. She truly touched the lives and hearts of so many kids and families throughout her time at St.Joe's. A donation will be made to St.Joe's in her memory and honor.
Sincerely,
Katie McGannon
