Eleanor Jean Argenti's Obituary
Eleanor Jean Argenti (nee Tocchi), 80, of Lorain, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 28th, 2015 at Avon Oaks Caring Community in Avon, Ohio.
Eleanor was born in Lorain, Ohio on November 8th, 1934 and graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1953. She graduated from Saint John’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She was employed at Saint Joseph’s Hospital for over 35 years as an RN, and various administrative roles including Head Nurse and Utilization Review. She retired in 1995 and then was active with the Nightingales Retired Nurses.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her large extended Italian family; her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Eleanor had a unique sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh. She also enjoyed attending her luncheons with her lifelong high school friends, and trips to the casinos. Eleanor was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, where she volunteered her nursing skills to the parish and the St. Francis of Assisi mission group.
Eleanor is survived by her children Mark Argenti (Michael Krys) of Royal Oak, Michigan, Karen Argenti of Elyria, Diane Long of Lorain; grandchildren Tara Rayl, Craig Argenti, Staci Cloen, Taylor Garra, and Kevin Cloen, great grandchildren Alicia Rayl, Kailee Rayl, and Bentley Donaldson, and sister Emma Stransky. She was preceded in death by her husband August (Tony); parents Serafino and Olive (Ortenzi) Tocchi; baby brother Joseph.
The family will receive friends on Sunday October 4th from 2-6 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at The Church of Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain OH. (EVERYONE IS TO PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH), Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
