Eleanore D. Pulgine's Obituary
Eleanore D. Pulgine (nee Burich), age 87, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
She was born in Lorain on April 25, 1928 to the late Andrew and Anna (nee Kozarich) Burich.
For over 20 years, Eleanore worked as a monitor at all three of the Lorain City high schools, retiring in the 1980’s from Southview High School.
For many years, she was an active member of the Italian American Veteran’s Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as president. Eleanore was also a member of the American Croatian Club in Lorain and Lakeland Women’s Club. An avid bowler, Eleanore bowled for many years in the Ladies League at Rebman’s.
She was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain and the parish Senior’s Group.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Teddy) Vanche, of Amherst; her son, Tony (Dawn) Pulgine of Aurora, IL; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, plus one scheduled to arrive this summer; and her brother, Gilbert Kudrin, of Lorain.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; her twin daughters, Gaye Lynn and Anna Mae; her brothers, Martin, Henry and Anthony Burich and her sisters, Joyce Burich and Marion Virant.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. (Please meet at the church) Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
