Elena Nunez-Rehman's Obituary
Elena Nunez-Rehman, 78, of Lorain, died peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Mercy New Life Hospice, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 26, 1944, to Florencio and Elena Nunez and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County, residing in Lorain and Vermillion. She graduated from Lorain High School where she met and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Bill.
She graduated from nursing school at Lorain County Community College and Bowling Green State University and later received her Nurse Practitioner degree in Indiana. She worked as a nurse and nurse practitioner at various local hospitals including The Cleveland Clinic, for over 50 years, and loved her job.
Elena savored life and had extreme enthusiasm and appreciation for the smallest things. Over the years she volunteered her time at The Lorain County Free Clinic and was a past member of The Rotary Club. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking traditional Mexican food, decorating, reading nursing journals, throwing parties, going to the Brain Aerobics Group and The Vine Club at the Morningside Active Living Community, and spending time with friends and family.
Elena is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Rehman; daughter, Jenny; brother, Louis Nunez; and her sister, Becky Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florencio and Elena Nunez; and brothers, Manual Martinez, Charles Flores, Dan Nunez, Roy Flores, Mike Nunez, Rudy Nunez, and Gus Nunez.
