Elizabeth J. "Betty" Cassidy's Obituary
Elizabeth J. “Betty” Cassidy, age 77, of Vermilion and formerly of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born on September 5, 1944, in Lorain, Ohio to Charles and Helen (nee Kerecz) Bors.
She was a 1961 graduate of Clearview High School and a 1984 graduate of Lorain County Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Computer Programing. She worked at American Crucible in Lorain and retired from First Federal Savings in Lorain.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, the Cleveland Browns, going to casinos and loved her trips to Key West, Florida. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, as they were her world.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Darryl Cassidy; daughters, Lisa (Kirk) Horency, Heather (Jeffrey) Cassidy Drain, and Catherine (Christopher Mason) Cassidy; grandchildren, Lindsey Rini, Cassidy Horency, Connor Horency, Preston Drain, Holland Drain, Hailey Drain, Delaney Drain, Brittan Hess, Zachery Dahl, and Carter Dahl; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jude, Archer, Flynn, Amelia, Sullivan, and Lennon; brother, Eugene Bors; and her sisters, Christine Bors, and Mary Lou Bors.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Adam A. Cassidy; parents, Charles and Helen Bors; and siblings, Patricia Pavlich, Rosemary Ziniewicz, and Charles Bors Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 16th. at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. Father Paul Schreiner, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
