Elizabeth A. Hoffman's Obituary
Elizabeth A. Hoffman (nee Costlow), age 88, of Lorain passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on September 9, 1927 in Johnstown, PA to the late Walter and Ellen Marie Costlow and graduated from Johnstown Central High School in 1945.
Elizabeth worked as a retail clerk for many years. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She enjoyed reading and tending to her flower garden. Elizabeth’s family was her life and she found great joy in spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rupert; sons, Thomas (Patricia) Hoffman, of Cleveland and Dennis (Shirley) Hoffman, of Berea; daughters, Dianne (Lewis) Hurst, of Lorain, Debora (Dr. James) Lipaj, of Doylestown, Karen (Samp) Wells II, of Amherst and Michelle( Jeff) Brown, of Lorain; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The Hoffman family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
