Elsie M. Divers' Obituary
Elsie M. Divers, age 88, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at New Life Hospice Center after a sudden illness.
She was born on April 18, 1929 in Grunde, Virginia to Lee A. and Oma Looney. Elsie worked as a welder for Fruehauf Industries for 11 years. She later went on to work as an assembler for Arrow Aluminum, retiring in 1993.
Elsie enjoyed gardening and cooking and her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. Everyone loved Elsie and she was a friend to all.
She is survived by her children, William Moore, Kathy Rush, Tina Moore, and Charles Moore; grandchildren, Becky Moore, Jason Thomas, Danielle Moore, Chuckie Moore, Jimmy Moore, Justin, Thomas, and Josh Moore; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Viers.
Elsie was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Thomas; husband, Gerald Divers; grandchildren, Billy Moore and Chastisty Moore; parents, Lee A. and Oma Looney; and siblings, Tom Looney, Bessie Wojtseck, Katherine Quesenberry, Edna Stacy, Clifton Looney, Ernest Looney, Faye Prince, and Bill Looney.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Moderator Elder Steve Slone and Assistant Moderator Elder, Larry Newsome will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
