Elsie Kiser's Obituary
Elsie Marie Kiser (nee Blankenship), age 76, of Amherst, died on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Community Health Partners, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 16, 1933 in Hurley, West Virginia to Molly (nee Justice) and John Blankenship.
Elsie enjoyed going for long walks, drives in the country and spending time with her family. She loved to reminisce of years past when the family kids were young and how much she enjoyed spending Christmas and Easter with them. She had as much fun coloring eggs and hiding them for Easter egg hunts as the kids did finding the eggs. The trains her late husband, Jim, had around the Christmas tree was a sight to see and something everyone enjoyed. Her great nieces and nephews enjoyed playing dress up with whatever they could find in her closets and she loved watching them have fun while they tried out new outfits. In more recent years, she enjoyed shopping with her niece Bobbie and great-niece, Grace. They always ended a day of shopping by going to their favorite restaurant together. She left her family with many wonderful memories that they will cherish forever. “We love you Aunt Elsie, you are forever in our hearts.”
She leaves behind her nieces, Verla Widner, of KY, Jennifer Kiser, of Amherst and Bobbie Beight (husband Tim), of Amherst; her nephews, Tim Kiser (wife Janet), of Lorain, James Kiser (wife Laurie) of Amherst, and Joe Kiser of Lorain; many great nieces and nephews; her sisters, Wanda Stacy, Juanita Justus, Betty Yates, Cathy Reynolds, Patty Reynolds, Mary Waldron Harriet Justus and a brother, James Nipper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Kiser in 1988; her mother, Molly Nipper (nee Justice), her father John Blankenship, a sister, Elizabeth Kiser and a brother, Carson Nipper.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 9th from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10;00 a.m. Pastor Mark Reynolds of Life Builders Four Square Church in Oberlin will officiate. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
