Elva C. Krosky's Obituary
Elva C. Krosky (nee Mazzoni), a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon at the age of 91. Born on April 29, 1933, in Lorain, Ohio, Elva was the beloved daughter of the late August "Joe" and Mary (nee Visci) Mazzoni.
Elva graduated from Clearview High School in 1951 and continued her education at Lorain Business College. She worked for the Lorain Journal and U.S. Steel before she dedicated 23 years of service as an Office Manager at Bob Holtwick Nationwide Insurance Company in Vermilion before retiring in 1996.
Elva cherished the friendships she made through her involvement with the Red Hats, Crafty Ladies, and her Bible Study group. However, her greatest passion was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elva is survived by her loving children, son Ken (Beth) Krosky and daughter Karen (Bob) Christmyer; her cherished grandchildren, Dan (Mariah) Christmyer, Steve (Shelbie) Christmyer, and Angela (Jim) Svadba; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jude Christmyer, Caige and Bryce Christmyer, and Luke and Max Svadba. She is also survived by her siblings, Joe (Barbara) Mazzoni, Arlene (Tony) Marcucci, and Jerry (JoAnn) Mazzoni, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond Krosky; her parents, August and Mary Mazzoni; and her sister, Jean Kalivoda; and brother-in-law, Karl Kalivoda.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, pastor. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Elva to the non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Society at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com.
