Elvira Berki's Obituary
Elvira Berki, age 94, of Lorain passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion.
She was born on November 21, 1921 in Lorain, Ohio to Julius and Elvira (nee Horvath) Trelay and graduated from Lorain High School.
Elvira was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening, reading, cross-stitching, sewing, sketching and painting. She was a wonderful grandmother and loved the time that she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Berki, of Lorain and Joseph (Sharyn) Berki, of Elyria; granddaughters, Kaitlyn (Andrew Stine) Berki, Michelle Berki; great-grandson, Julian Stine; sisters, Irma Sudomier, of Avon Lake and Lona Trelay, of Lorain.
Elvira was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Berki; parents, Julius and Elvira Trelay; and her brother, Joseph Trelay.
The Berki family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Friday, August 19th. at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev.Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
