Emsee Browning's Obituary
Emsee Browning (nee Southers), 90 formerly of Amherst, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at North Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville, following a lengthy illness.
Born September 17, 1923 in Ethel, West Virginia, she lived in Lakewood, Sheffield and Amherst before moving to North Ridgeville.
Emsee was a member of Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle in Sheffield, and enjoyed her flower garden.
Surviving are her sons, James of Lorain, and Bob of Avon; daughters, Patricia Gillis of Lakewood, Linda Cavillo of Cleveland, and Kimberly Sanchez of Lakewood; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorainne White of Blair, West Virginia
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie in 1974; sons, Charles Ray and Jerry Ray; parents, Edward and Elva (neeVance) Southers; brothers Clyde, Russell and Ermal; and sisters, Beatrice Alridge and Madge Burgess.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Her grandsons, pastors Jerry L. Browning and Samual R. Browning will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakewood Cemetery, Rocky River.
