Erik Robert Kneip's Obituary
Erik Robert Kneip, age 49 passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. He was born on March 26, 1968 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from Admiral King High School in 1986.
Upon his graduation from high school Erik continued his education at the University of Cincinnati, studying Nuclear Engineering and at Cleveland State University where he studied Finance. He made his career in financial planning as a wealth advisor and Certified Financial Planner. Erik was a former partner with Stratos Wealth Partners, former Vice-President of Platinum Financial Services Advisor at Ameriprise Financial, and a former member of Sagemark Private Wealth Service Group and the Resource Group. He recently earned his real estate license and was working as a real estate agent with Keller Williams. Erik was truly dedicated to all his clients. He was a proud graduate of the Lorain County Leadership Class of 2012.
He enjoyed EDM (Electronic Dance Music), dancing his heart out, his treasured art collection by Cleveland Artist, Laura Mangual, and being near the water, especially spending time at Edgewater Beach. He had always hoped to travel. Erik’s sons were his world and nothing was more important to him than his boys and the time he shared with them. #morethananything.
Erik is survived by his sons, Erik M. Kneip, 18, and Josef I. Kneip, 16, both of Avon Lake; his mother, Barbara J. Crawford; sister, Stephanie Fukuoka; his loving companion of 3 years, Gina Maria Misenko; his niece and nephew, Victoria and Collin Stedman, and and his former spouse of 20 years, Suzanne (nee Luca) Broderick.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Kneip; step-father, Charles R. Crawford; grandparents, Anthony and Ruby Kneip, and Frank and Barbara Stacko.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21st. at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Father Leonard Bacik, Pastor of St. Bartholomew Church, Middleburg Hts., will officiate.
