It has been over four decades since my step-dad, "Herman", came into my life. I was 10 years old. Two years later, our family was blessed with the birth of my little brother - Tony. Although my Mom and Step-Dad were unable to maintain a marriage, my brother and "his" dad remained in our lives throughout the years. Herman quietly helped me at times - financially in 1976 and again by paying the plane fare for my little brother's flight to visit me in 1982 at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. My brother was made an honorary crew dog of the 964th AWAC Squadron. That memory is just one example of many too numerous to list that my little brother's dad has contributed to my life over the years. Herman was even more of a contributor to my little brother's life, including his wife Amy and their children Gabe and Peirce. In short, Herman was a devoted father and grandfather. We will all miss him and pray that his rest until the Judgement Day is a peaceful one, and that the Lord God Almighty, Most Graceful/Most Merciful, Blesses him and all of us on that Day. Amen.
