Esther Imbrogno's Obituary
Esther Imbrogno (Biczykowski) age 100, passed away Tuesday morning April 29, 2025 at her home.
She was born February 23, 1925 in Lorain, Ohio and lived her entire life in Lorain.
Esther graduated with honors from Lorain High School in 1943, married her love Ed, and became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker on Lorain’s east side. In addition to the joys of raising her family, she enjoyed tennis and golf as a Lorain Tennis Association member and as a member of the Elyria County Club Ladies Niners. A Lorain Community Hospital volunteer, some of her other volunteer work included Lorain Schools PTA and Booster, and Cub Scout Den Mother.
Esther had a flair for the artistic. Whatever project she took on whether it be decorating or cooking, housecleaning or story reading, she always excelled and set an example of excellence for her family. She dabbled in ceramics, flower arrangement, canning, and sewing. Beyond the age of 90 she delighted her family and friends with many dozens of landscapes and still-life paintings done in both oil and watercolor. She always enjoyed a friendly card game of Canasta or Pass-it-On with her family. She was organized, gracious, caring and thoughtful.
She and husband Ed led a full and meaningful life during their marriage of 68 years. Spending time with family, traveling through the U.S., visiting Spain & Italy, and spending time in Marco Island and Naples, Florida with family and friends were the times they cherished most.
Esther is survived by daughter Dianne DeHayes, son Daniel Imbrogno, son Edward (Terri) Imbrogno; daughter-in-law, Diane Imbrogno; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward N. in 2012, daughter Karen, son Dean (Eugene), her parents Ludwig & Valeria Biczykowski, brothers Louis, Chester & Lawrence, and sisters Falicia, Emily, and Jean.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
