Esther "Arlene" Karnik's Obituary
Arlene was born on August 13, 1948, to Arlie and Frances Craigo, and passed away on April 14, 2018, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Arlene graduated in 1966 from Clearview High School, and then went to nursing school to become a pediatric nurse at St. Joseph Hospital. She started a second career in the food industry, working as an Administrative Assistant at DeLucas Place in the Park for 30+ years. She also was Administrative Assistant for the Lorain County Visitors Bureau. Arlene was active in the Quota Club.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jim “Pops” Karnik, her sons, Tony and Chad, her grandchildren, Darrin, Cameron, Jayden, and CJ, her three sisters, Judy, Nancy and Berneice, her brother, Terry, her aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her mother, Frances, her father, Arlie, her sister, Rosie, and her niece, Renee. She leaves behind numerous friends.
Arlene adored her family, her friends, and her dogs and cats. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She loved to read and listen to music.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, from 4 - 8 pm at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where funeral services will also be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 am. To send an online condolence, please go to www.dovinreberjones.com.
