Dearest Family of Mr. Kerekes
I join with so many people who knew Big Gene in offering my deepest sympathy on his passing. Although it is of little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate the end of a very long and full life.
The measure of a life well-lived is not how much money one has or what possessions they have acumulated, but rather the lives they touched and the sorrow they leave behind. In my mind, Gene will always be a vibrant and outgoing individual who was a second father to me when I was growing up during my high school days in Amherst. He always treated me as one of your familiy and if the ourpouring of sympathy on his loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, then truly his life is one that was well-lived.
May all of you find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him.
With deepest sympathy and warmest personal regards.
