Faye Eleanor Parke
91, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 21, due to complications from a traumatic brain injury and dementia. Faye grew up in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, before moving to Amherst, Ohio, in 1962. She lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by significant achievements and a deep love for her family.
Faye made history as Mrs. America in 1959, a title that reflected her grace, charm, and dedication to others. She also worked for over ten years at Marion L. Steele High School, touching the lives of countless students and staff. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Duane Parke, who passed away in 1994. She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Selnick (spouse: Tim Selnick) of Cincinnati and Denise Brusky (spouse: Allen Brusky) of Lorain, as well as her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at Dovin Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
