Felipe "El Pollo" Valadez's Obituary
Felipe “El Pollo” Valadez, age 48, of Lorain, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019. He passed away at his home under the care of New Life Hospice and surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 13, 1970 in Mexico City, Mexico. At the age of 17, he moved to Idaho where he drove a semi-truck for a ranch for 4 years. He would haul anything from potatoes to heavy machinery and equipment. Then, he went for a visit to Mexico where he ended up meeting and marrying his beautiful wife, Maria. Shortly after marriage they moved together to Idaho, where their 2 sons, Felipe and Eduardo, were born. He was always proud and happy to have his wife and son, Felipe, sit right next to him and ride along with him on his hauling trips. In 1998, while still living in Idaho, he received a job offer from Lorain and began working at High-Tech Pools, where he happily worked for the past 20 years. Felipe loved his job and his co-workers. They were all pretty much best friends. Another thing about Felipe was that his brother, Juan, seemed to always follow him when it came to work and jobs. They liked and enjoyed working together for the same company. And, just a couple of years into his employment at High-Tech Pools, in 2000, Felipe and Maria’s daughter, Isabel, was born.
When Felipe dreamed about retirement, he wanted and envisioned that he would live in Mexico during the winters and then live in Idaho during the summers. He loved the USA and all that it stood for, but his heart always remained in Mexico and he was proud of his heritage. He enjoyed dancing and watching his Mexican soccer team, the “Pumas.” He always looked forward to his family trips to Mexico as well. Felipe was such a hard worker. It was difficult for him to just sit and do “nothing.” There’s nothing that he would not do for his wife and children. He spent his life making sure he did his best to get them everything they needed or wanted. He put everyone else first, before himself.
He is going to be dearly missed by his loving wife, Maria (nee Soto), his sons; Felipe and Eduardo, his daughter, Isabel, his parents; Antonio Valadez Reyna and Maria Guadalupe Santos, and his siblings; Margarita, Santos, Teresa, Antonio, Cuca, Ofelia, Socoro, Edith, and Juan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January10th, from 4 -8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Friends will also be received on Friday, January11th, from 8:30 am until the time of his Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
