Felix C. "Phil" Soto's Obituary
Felix “Phil” C. Soto, 86, Lorain. Died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 suddenly at home after a long illness. He retired from Ford Motor Co., Lorain. He was active in AA groups in Lorain for many years. In past, he was active St Francis Xavier Cabrini Church (formerly St. John’s), and also volunteered yearly for their summer carnivals with his family. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, car rides, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Throughout the years, he enjoyed volunteering and would help others that he knew where in need. He will be dearly missed.
Phil was born in Texas to the late Anastacio and Anacleta Soto. He lived his adult life with his late wife, Carmen P. Soto (Martinez), whom he was married to for 53 years until her passing in 2011. He is survived by his children; Felix Soto, Jr, of Michigan, Mayo Soto, of Lorain, Anna Cleta (Bill) Heider, of Amherst, and Veronica Maldonado, of Lorain; grandchildren, Armando II, Amanda & Mark Lopez, Selina, Leticia, Mayo, Telisa, and Amelia Soto, Ashley & William Heider, Consuelo & Antonio S. Maldonado;15 great grandchildren; brother, Alex “Echo” (Jane) Soto; and brother-in-laws, Esteban (the late Sherry) Martinez and Cirilo Martinez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Consuelo and her husband, Armando Lopez; in laws, Cirilo & Paula (nee Palacios) Martinez; brothers, Tony, Victor, Pilar, Pedro and Valentin Soto; and sisters, Catalina Mosqueda, Pauline Campos, Lupe Ramirez, Paula Soto, and Mercy Sampson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 12 – 4 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
