Frances Morris' Obituary
Frances M. Morris (nee Rositano), 80 of Lorain, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at her grandson’s home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 1, 1930 in Lorain, where she lived her entire life. She was a “Snowbird” for the past 20 years though, traveling to her home in Mesa, Arizona.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School. Frances was employed at St. Peter’s cafeteria for 15 years. Prior to this she worked at DeLuca’s Place in the Park, Lorain for over 20 years.
Frances was an original member of Church of St. Peter until recently joining Mary Mother of God Parish.
Fran always seemed to help everyone else before herself. She always looked forward to going to casinos and loved to cook, especially teaching her friends in Arizona how to cook chicken paprikash.
She is survived by her son, Jim (Carla) of Lorain, her loving partner of 23 years, “Pace” Gannis, grandchildren; Jimmy (Hetty) of Wakeman, Dennis (Traci) of Monroeville, Dale (Van) of Buckeye, AZ ,Michelle (Joe) Vince, of Lorain, Aaron (Heather) Lopez of Lorain, and Adam Lopez, of Lorain, 9 great grandchildren, and her siblings; Marie Podrosky, of Amherst, Bruno (Joan) Rositano, of Lorain, JoAnn (Tom) Conley, of Sheffield Lake, and Pat (Bob) Smaldino, of Avon Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale W. in 1983, 2 sisters, Rosie Rositano and Josephine Glorioso, and her parents; John and Jennie (nee Marino) Rositano.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass at Mary Mother of God Parish at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
