Frances Katheryn Petrov's Obituary
Frances Katheryn Petrov (nee Brown), age 75, of Elyria passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. She was born on June 4, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to John R. and Alice (nee McLaughlin) Brown and graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1960.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Elyria and a former longtime member of Elyria Country Club. Fran was a forty year member, past president and social chairman of the Lorain County Dental Society Auxiliary and a member of the American Association of Endodontics Auxiliary. For many years Fran volunteered teaching preschoolers the importance of good dental health.
Fran enjoyed cooking, dancing, and flower arranging. She had a love of birds and would enjoy watching them in her backyard in her numerous bird feeders. Spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Nelson Petrov; daughters, Dr. Lisa C. Petrov, of Richfield, OH, Monique N. Petrov, of San Francisco, CA, and Alycia S. (Dr. Don) Lamparski, of Gibsonia, PA; grandchildren, Erin and Lauren Nagle, and Channing and Ayden Lamparski; siblings, Donald (Sonia) Brown, of Brooklyn, OH, and Lois Heidorf, of Avon, OH; brother-in-law, Melvin Petrov, of Brooklyn, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael S. Petrov, in 1964; parents, John and Alice Brown; and her brother-in-law, Dr. Hudson Heidorf.
The Petrov family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Rev. Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Frances to St. Jude Catholic School, 594 Poplar Street, Elyria, OH 44035
