Francisco F. Cordova's Obituary
Francisco F. Cordova passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 82, under the compassionate care of New Life Hospice. His passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on for generations.
Born on October 4, 1943, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Francisco was the beloved son of the late Juan and Anna (née Flores) Cordova.
Francisco dedicated 33½ years of his life to Ford Motor Company, where he worked as an assembler before spending the final four years of his career in the clean-up division. He took great pride in his work and was an active, lifelong supporter of working families as a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union. He was also a member of the Puerto Rican Home, where he enjoyed celebrating his heritage and the friendships he made throughout the years.
Francisco was truly one of a kind. A natural jokester with an infectious smile, he was often the life of the party and could brighten any room with his quick wit and sense of humor. His generous heart knew no limits. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, often giving more than was asked and expecting nothing in return. Whether driving a friend to the grocery store, taking someone to the airport, or simply being there when a neighbor needed assistance, Francisco found joy in serving others. His optimism was unwavering, and he always chose to see the good in people and in life.
Above all else, Francisco was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest source of happiness was his family, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. The memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely will remain treasured by those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret (née Lovas) Cordova; his children, Diane Fraley, Francisco Cordova Jr. (fiancée, Cathy Wuersig), and Johnny (Kelly) Cordova; his grandchildren, Latoya Flores, Dominique Flores, Christopher Cordova, Heather Howard, Kristina Holzhauer, and Joseph Chaffin; his cherished great-granddaughter, Layla Jackson; his sister, Maria Nevarez; and his brothers, Johnny Nevarez and Louis Nevarez.
In addition to his parents, Francisco was preceded in death by his father, Juan Cordova, and mother, Anna (née Flores) Cordova.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
Francisco's family will forever remember his laughter, his generous spirit, and the love he shared so freely. His life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest legacy one can leave behind is found in kindness, compassion, and the people whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
