Frank J. Kurowski's Obituary
Frank J. Kurowski, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, after a short illness. Frank was born on April 19, 1935, in Lorain, Ohio, where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army with the 49th Field Battalion, which included 18 months in Korea near the Freedom Bridge and the DMZ.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, gardening, and a good family fish fry. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football fan.
Frank was briefly employed at National Tube and Thew Shovel before retiring from Lorain Glass Company in 1998 after 40 years of employment. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lorain and a lifetime member of the United Polish Club.
He is survived by Delores (nee Kormish), his wife of 66 years; his five children, Jack (Lynn), of Alpharetta, GA, Michael (Robin) of Vermilion, Frank (Cathy) of Lorain, Susan (Matt) Ballish, of Cary, NC, and Pamela (Tom) Caruso, of Avon Lake, in addition to 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Bremer, of Largo, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Esther Kurowski; sister, Geraldine Matuszak; and grandson, Nicholas Kurowski.
In accordance with Frank’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held for the immediate family only.
