Gabriel Michael Monticue's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriel Michael Monticue, a vibrant soul who left us all too soon. Gabriel, age 25, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. Born on January 27, 1999, in Lorain, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Michael Monticue Sr. and Racheal Velez.
Gabriel's journey began at Lorain High School, where he graduated with the Class of 2017. From an early age, he exuded an unparalleled zest for life. With a boundless energy and an innate ability to connect with others, Gabriel was known for his gregarious nature. He approached every interaction with warmth and sincerity, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A true free spirit, Gabriel thrived on adventure and embraced life's challenges with courage and determination. He possessed a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was through a kind word, a listening ear, or a selfless act of kindness, Gabriel touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the world around him.
In addition to his adventurous spirit, Gabriel had a deep passion for the arts. He found solace and expression through drawing, art, and music, pouring his soul into each creation with unwavering passion and creativity and tattooing himself.
Gabriel will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Racheal Velez and Michael Monticue Sr., his cherished siblings, Carissa Cruz, Michael Monticue Jr., Antonio Monticue, and Thalia Monticue, as well as his grandparents, Gladys Brennan, Dolores Delgado, and Mr. and Mrs. Francisco and Margaret Gonzalez. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends, all of whom were touched by his remarkable spirit.
A celebration of Gabriel's life will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, starting with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, Ohio, officiated by Rev. Father William Thaden, Pastor. Gabriel will be laid to rest at Ridge Hill Memorial Park following the services.
