Gabrielle Clare Donovan's Obituary
Gabrielle Clare Donovan, 46, passed away on December 28, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 11, 1979, in Oberlin, Ohio to Jeremiah and the late Evelyn (nee Nicol) Donovan.
A graduate of Admiral King High School, Gabrielle was employed by Ford Motor Company in Brook Park, Ohio and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, Ohio.
Gabrielle found joy in life’s quieter moments—playing phone games like Monopoly Go, enjoying the outdoors, and most of all spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her children and especially treasured time snuggling her daughter, Ashleen.
She is survived by her loving daughters Alanna Donovan, Brenna Donovan (Devin French), and Ashleen Donovan; cherished granddaughter Evelyn; devoted partner Rodney Gillen with whom she shared ten years, father Jeremiah Donovan; and dear siblings Mary Springowski (Tommy), Paul Donovan (Tracy), Michael Donovan (Carol), Coleen Donovan (John Ridinger), and Paul McGuckin (Kelly); and many treasured nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Gabrielle was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Donovan; her brother, Sean Donovan; and her grandson, Jameson-John Donovan-Gossett who passed on December 19, 2025 and whom she is now peacefully reunited with.
Family and friends will be received Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E Erie Ave, Lorain, OH. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
