Gary Tabar's Obituary
Gary F. Tabar, age 73, of Amherst, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 18, 1939 in Cleveland to the late Frank and Elizabeth (nee Nowicki). Growing up in Cleveland, he graduated from West Tech High School. He came to Lorain in the mid 1970's and resided there for 5 years before moving to Amherst.
Gary owned and operated Commercial Auto Recycling in Lorain from 1975 until his retirement in 2000.
He thoroughly enjoyed life and had many hobbies over the years, including motorcycling, drag racing, bowling, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and many more.
He is survived by his wife of 28 ½ years, Laurie (nee Barnes); his son, Tary of Everglades City, FL; his daughter, Wendy (Tim) Titchenell, of Amherst; his brother-in-laws, Dan (Mara) Barnes, of Vermilion, and Tom (Carol) Barnes, of Elyria; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Badger.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
